Council on Aging - Southern California
900+ Volunteers Power Our Mission. Today, your Gift Goes Twice as Far to Celebrate Them.
At the Council on Aging - Southern California (COASC), our mission is to help seniors remain healthy, connected and protected. COASC is the champion of healthy aging in our community, providing free programs and services that enable older adults to thrive in retirement.
Through life-changing initiatives like Senior Fraud Protection, navigating Medicare through our HICAP program, Advocating for the Rights of over 48,000 long-term care residents, providing vital Behavioral Mental Health and Wellness support, and supporting older adults with our Answers Resource Guide, we ensure seniors have the rources they need to live health lives.
The true engine behind these services is our incredible network of volunteers.
Annually, 400 dedicated volunteers (mainly retirees), selflessly give their time to support local seniors. During the holidays, our team grows with an additional 500 volunteers for our SmileMakers Holiday Project, bringing the total to over 900 volunteers working together to support our older adult community.
Today, we are launching a special 24-Hour Volunteer Flash Campaign dedicated entirely to supporting them.
The 24-Hour Challenge:
Every dollar raised today goes directly to our Volunteer Appreciation Fund, ensuring we can recruit, train, support, and celebrate the incredible volunteers who deliver our free programs to the community.
